Weird Wednesday

Welcome to Weird facts Wednesday. I’m going to share five random weird facts, it might become a new weekly feature. If you choose to continue reading you will learn something new and useless unless it shows up in a trivia related game/show.

* Children have more taste buds than adults.

This explains so much with picky eaters. I had no idea, my son will say that something tastes spicy to him and I won’t notice it. He also seems very sensitive to flavors especially if they are sweeter or more sour than normal

* Shark pregnancies last up to 4 years.

Holy crap! I know during my pregnancy it felt like I’d been pregnant for a year by the end of it haha. I can’t even imagine being pregnant for that kind of length.

* Shrimp can only swim backwards.

I got nothing on this…the only thing I wonder is if they would be bigger if they could swim both directions.

* The only lizard that has a voice is the Gecko.

Geico already knew this, how do you think they came up with their mascot?

* Fish can drown

I feel like this is impossible. Or just incredible bad luck for a fish. They have gills to breath underwater but can still drown?

Buffalo wings brought me my best friend

Yesterday I had a memory pop up in my timeline from two years ago. It was a picture of my boyfriend and I on our first getaway couples weekend. We went to Cincinnati for a whole weekend. Watched the Reds kick butt in a baseball game, explored the city and had an amazing weekend overall. It really made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside to think about how much we’ve grown together as a couple. I thought about how much I’ve grown myself.

I met my boyfriend in a bar on a trivia night. I know what you’re thinking…the bar is not a reliable place to meet a guy/girl if you’re looking for a deeper relationship other than a one night stand. This could not be further from the truth at least for me personally. I’ve never been very good at the whole dating scene. I’m socially awkward as all get out. I had gone there to just relax after work, have a beer and play some trivia.

Our eyes met across the high table and I found myself looking his way more than once the whole night. We never exchanged numbers that night. We ended up running into each other two weeks later. I felt like that was a huge sign loudly saying “take a chance here”. We’ve been dating ever since. It’s not always roses and sunshine, and it’s not always storms and clouds either. We both keep working together through everything that comes our way and I couldn’t feel more blessed with my chance at love.
