Professional crop duster

So my brother recently turned the big 3-0. He’s always giving me grief about how old I am. Of course I had to pay him back a little bit for his birthday haha.

Its been a running joke in our family about how gassy my brother is… so I found a T-shirt that said professional crop duster and bought it for him. Everyone was cracking up when he opened it up.

Belated fox birthday

holy fox this blog is two years old now!

It’s hard to believe I started this thing two years ago. My first year of blogging I feel like I had a better direction or idea of what I was going to talk about with each entry. This year I’ve been winging it a lot more.

And you know what? That’s perfectly okay. You don’t have to plan everything out before you type or write it. Sometimes I’m able to be a lot more personal and truthful when I just let the words come out however they want to. Some days I have nothing I feel like I can say.

It’s all part of the creative process if you will. Happy belated birthday to this fox.

Mighty fine nine

My son turns nine today! Sometimes he amazes me with his thoughtfulness and big heart. Other times I’m wondering why hasn’t he noticed his shirt is completely on backwards haha.

It seems a little surreal that we’ve both grown so much in these last years. I learned not only how to be a mom but how to do it on my own. We went through speech therapy together. IED plans. Moving. New adventures. Learned how to trust someone enough to let them get close again.

Grew into a family. He’s so excited to be a big brother and I’m so excited to watch him continue to grow. Hope you have a very happy birthday my love

The day I said I do

You know how people say planning a wedding means at least one thing will go wrong?

They are absolutely right about that.

From having to change our date more than once, re-do venue contracts, and all the other snags we hit leading up to our big day we were both ready to finally have it done and be married to each other.

Morning of we were texting each other the plan of how things were supposed to go leading up to the ceremony. About an hour after our text conversation my now husband calls me to let me know my father-in-law just got rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. It felt like the wind got knocked out of me and I can’t imagine the worry/anxiety that my husband was feeling. We didn’t know how bad it was yet. My father-in-law has Addison’s disease.

If you don’t know what that is here’s a link

Throughout the rest of the day my husband and I stayed in touch about his dad’s condition. He ended up getting stabilized and we were able to facetime him during our ceremony and reception. I’m just so incredibly thankful that he’s okay now. I’m also thankful that at the end of the day I got to marry my very best friend.

I fell down a rabbit hole

Well it was more of a wedding planning and honeymoon hole but I promise I didn’t just up and disappear. We had so much stuff going on the week of our wedding, the day of our wedding and then we were on our much deserved honeymoon. I’m officially married to my best friend! I could NOT be more happier! Now to catch up and write about what’s been going on lately.

Thursday before our wedding I got to hear our babies heartbeat!! I’m still kind of in shock over a week later because I still feel just so blessed that I’m getting the opportunity to be a mom again.

Friday (day before wedding) Was spent running around crazy getting everything ready to go, grabbing last minute things that I somehow had forgotten and finally we did our wedding rehearsal that night.

My actual wedding day is going to take me a minute or so to type up so I’ll post that here later. Toodles for now

White dress update

Things that have happened this past week:

*Mailed the very last of our invitations (my hand’s not cramped from writing amazingly)

*Got my future husband’s wedding band (may need to get resized)

*Ordered and paid the deposit on our desserts for our wedding (hooray for buffet style sweets)

*Made a homemade banana cream pie cheesecake (it was absolutely delicious)

*Started on my wedding bouquet stuff

*Started alterations on my wedding dress

*Coached my son into getting A’s for his last two oral speeches (Props to Karter for working so hard)

*Cooked more dinners at home

*Have been taking Zumba again

*Got rid of our cable service because it’s was getting way too expensive (yay for saving money)

Does this dress make me look fat?

So I’m going to be looking at some dresses this weekend. I’m excited to spend some time with my friends and get the bridesmaid dresses as well. I originally had decided to go to David’s bridal that was nearby but after hearing about their financial situation(potentially going bankrupt) I decided to go a different direction.

If you’ve ever been dress shopping, what was your favorite part? Where did you go to shop?

My favorite search engine has a birthday today

This morning Google had a little video about how it’s their birthday and they are only 20 years old. I could have sworn that this website has been around a lot longer than I’ve been alive. Before we had all this information at our fingertips we used to have to thumb through encyclopedias or find a professional to help answer a question.

So happy birthday Google. Thanks for all your help with my past homework and anytime my brain has a weird question like where do all my hair ties go. In case you’re wondering they disappear into a black hole and I never ever find them again.

Another level up

My little dude is eight years old today!! Oh where has the time gone? I remember when he was three he wanted to be Batman when he grew up. Now he thinks he wants to breaks backs when he gets older. AKA become a chiropractor because he thought it was the coolest thing when he watched me get my adjustment. He loves building LEGO sculptures and has starting reading chapter books. Have the happiest birthday dude!
