Feeling Fine

Monday, Monday, Monday

While it’s usually the least favorite day of the week for most people (myself included sometimes), this one is going to be good. You know why?

Not only am I going to be meeting with my manager about the opportunities that recently opened up for me but I’m in a super good mood. Maybe it’s because I feel like a lot of stress has recently been wiped off my shoulders, maybe it’s because I got a pretty decent night of sleep.

Whatever it really is I’m not letting anyone bring me down today 🙂

Cannot access

So recently at my job it seems like I’ve been locked out of a bunch of things involving my account. I can longer look at open jobs which was never an issue before. I also can’t access the part which allows me to update things like health insurance, emergency contact, etc. I’ve been emailing HR trying to get to the bottom of things and get it squared away and no such luck.

I know that sometimes it can take some time to get things figured out but it seems a little strange to me that one by one things I had access to I’m suddenly being locked out of. I mean what’s up with that? I’ve never really had to deal too much with HR before so if anyone has any advice on what else I can do I would greatly appreciate it.

Mauled by a tiger 🐅

It’s not officially a Monday until you’ve broken four glasses, slept through your first alarm and cleaned up cat puke from the floor.

At least that’s how my Monday is going so far. I also had a dream last night that there was a tiger walking around my neighborhood so naturally I wanted to pet it. I woke up before I touched its fluffy head. Probably a good thing because I may have gotten mauled in my dream.

Happy Monday you maniacs ❤️

Monday, Monday can’t trust that day

The past couple of Mondays I’ve been feeling like there is a storm cloud raining directly on my head. A bit like this:

Okay maybe I’m being slightly dramatic here but I’ve been struggling on the first day especially. To say that the work atmosphere around here has been tense and stress barely scratches the surface. There’s been a lot of this lately:

So I’m going to try and channel my inner Elsa and let that stress shit go like this:

& I’m going to do more of this too:

Everyone have an awesome start to your week. Don’t let anyone rain on your parade.

I’m burning my pajamas when I get home

I’m not scared of bugs or anything but I’m definitely not a huge fan of them. I had a super rude awakening and failed to appreciate Mr.thousand legs crawling on my arms. *shudders*

Literally stood up out of bed and felt a tickling sensation on my arm, thought it was a stray hair or something. NOPE! It was a horrible thing that had way to many legs. My brain is not normally functioning on a reliable level when I wake up but I remember saying something along the lines of “ewww, that’s so gross now I need to burn my pj’s” Guys it was way to early in the morning to have my heart almost stop

I searched the whole bedroom and didn’t find any further evidence of other creepy crawlies around so at the moment it seems safe. I’m going to fire my cat who is supposed to be on guard duty and keep these things from happening.

Cereal killer

Grab a bowl, milk and your favorite cereal. It’s national cereal day! Fruit loops was always one of my big favorites as a kid. My diet was kids cereal every morning well into my twenties. Do you remember mornings eating a bowl of cereal, reading the back of the box and trying to find the toy inside the box?(I still write messages with a decoder ring haha)Here are the facts and fiction:

  •  Ferdinand Schumacher, a German immigrant, began the cereal revolution in 1854 (He left his family of shoemakers behind to pursue his dream)
  • In 1877, Schumacher adopted the Quaker symbol, the first registered trademark for a breakfast cereal.
  • Honey Nut Cheerios was created by the bumblebee mafia for profits
  • Cousins to the Keebler elves Snap, Crackle and Pop invented Rice Krispies
  • In 1895 Dr. John Harvey Kellogg launched Cornflakes, which overnight captured a national market.(He used the family rooster as inspiration for the logo)

If you’re just waking up to start your day, what better way than with a bowl of cereal?

PS My top three kid favorites were

  1. Fruit Loops
  2. Cocoa Puffs
  3. Trix

Once upon a time…

There was a day dedicated to telling a fairy tale. That day is today my friends. It’s national tell a fairy tale day. A day for a classic story or a day to invent one. Here’s the truths and the tales:

  • The origins of most fairy tales were unseemly and were told as a way to make children behave (My dad used to tell me and my brother he got in a fight with a bear and we believed it for a couple of years)
  • The brothers Grimm collected and published some of the more well-known tales we are familiar with today(I actually own a collection of their stories that has been passed down for three generations in my family)
  • Grimm’s fairy tales are written in a darker tone. Authors like Hans Christian Andersen wrote much warmer children’s tales

So go and write a story. Maybe put your own twist on a classic. Maybe write an entirely new story. Here’s a list of my favorite fairy tales out of the Grimm”s fairy tale book:

  1. Snow White
  2. The Seven Ravens
  3. The Devil with the Three Golden Hairs
  4. King Thrushbeard
  5. The Three Feathers
  6. Water of Life
  7. One-Eye, Two-Eyes and Three-Eyes
  8. The Straw, the Coal and the Bean
  9. Iron Henry
  10. Rapunzel

Manic Monday

Do you ever have one of those mornings where you think I forgot to take the trash out drive back to your house and realize it’s President’s day? Then when you get to your house you realize you left an upstairs light on so you go shut it off get to work and realize you left your lunch in the fridge. Just me today? I decided to start manic Mondays.

They are going to be posts about either random facts or something about myself. For today’s topic I’m going with:
